AN-IUU ( Asean Network Combating IUU fishing)

The Department of Fisheries Myanmar is cooperating with the ASEAN Network for Combating IUU fishing by official nomination of the Focal Person and Observer to the AN-IUU working group. They use the AN-IUU platform software account provided by ASEAN, and sharing information such as IUU fishing vessel through that platform. DOF Myanmar is participating in meetings and regional workshops on IUU fishing led by the AN-IUU working group, participating and providing consultation on statements by ASEAN on IUU fishing, and sharing relative fishing statistics with SEAFDEC member countries.

Product Movement Document (PMD)

Before exporting fisheries products from Myanmar across the border to the bordering countries, the exporters must be apply Product Movement Document 1 and 2 (PMD 1, 2) through the relevant DOF offices in the region, and must be carried with the product when exporting. These PMD 1, 2 must be submitted to the Check Point of the bordering countries. The PMD is a certificate issued to certify that the fisheries products are collected from legal fishing. Before export, inspectors from the Department of Fisheries inspected at the check point of the vessel name, fishing grounds and fish species caught data, then fill in the type of vehicle and number of the vehicle to be transported, and signature the confirmation of inspectors and Region/District/Township Officers.
